Day 9

Ft. Bragg
May 15, 2013, 9:34 AM

We arrived at Ft. Bragg late afternoon yesterday. It was a perfect ride. About six hours from Atlanta, not bad at all. Since we are going at a leisurely pace, six hours behind the wheel is about the max we want to do. We were following the GPS without incident till we got into Ft. Bragg the town, then don't you know it she wants us to turn onto a road that is no longer there. Oh for the love go God, I mean really at this point what do you do. I can see us driving further along this road and ending up at a gate for the base and some pimplie face kid with a rifle telling us, I don't care what you're looking for or how big that thing is you have to turn it around cause you're not coming through this gate. These were things I would so much rather avoid, so we made a call, Brian came to us and we got to a very nice campground. Right now there are only six or eight sites cause half the campground is closed for construction, but we are more than happy with what we have.

After we got settled and we went to Brian and Kirsten's house, we picked up the kids and went to Outback for a wonderful dinner. And the really nice thing was nobody had to do dishes. It was a great visit.

Today we are going to catch up on some issues with mail, and banking, and just relax. Well so much for the relaxing we ended up going to Walmart and Lowes and a couple other minor stops. Then back to the RV. Kirsten is making meatloaf for dinner and I'm bringing the sides. This will be a nice night with family that we don't get to see often enough.

Oh my gosh, I forgot how active three kids can be. Brian and Kirsten have my admiration for doing such a great job. Veronica and I played a game of Shoots and Ladders and we played Hang "Woman" out back. Veronica is an equal opportunity executioner, it was touch and go there for a while, the word was three letters. I got the C and the T, but by that time my Hang Woman had a head, body, arms, legs, and hair before I got the A. Whew, it was close, I almost got hung!! Brian and Sam were doing a Boy Scout community service project and as soon as they got home we were treated to a very nice meal. Thank you Kirsten.

Tomorrow we are on the move again. We weren't able to stay at this campground till Friday. When I went to the office to see if we could extend the stay one more night they told me they had a reservation for that sight later in the day on Thursday, they could move me to another site, but we couldn't stay where we are. I wanted to ask the guy if there was another site, out of the six or eight sites they have thats available why would they not just have the people coming in go to that site, but I played nice and just said OK. So we are going to go to Asheboro. Hopefully Brian and family will be able to come out to the zoo on Friday and we can spend one more day together.
