Pacific Coast Today

We went to the coast today. It started out to be another iconic cloudy, rain on and off, kind of morning but it is turning out to be a beautiful day. We are driving along route 109 which hugs the shore. The beaches we have seen so far are just not what I was expecting, here goes that story again. I guess I really have had certain expectations and I am coming to find reality is typically very different. These are just sandy beaches like we have in Florida, heck you're even allowed to drive on the beach here. I thought that was strictly a Florida thing.
We kept going north and finally hit beaches that were very much like what we had envisioned. The sun was shining and the clouds were clearing but there was still a mist rolling up the beach. The sand was dark, not really dark, it could have been just because it was wet, but I think the sand is just a bit darker than in Florida. There was a breeze coming off this water and it was nice and cool. It really was a perfect day. We had lunch at a seafood place that was very good. Steve and I got home and had a nice dinner.
Tomorrow Steve is going to watch the race. This is one of the first times we have been at a campground that has cable on a race day. I promised him we would do nothing so he could watch the race. Good God, I am a good wife, he's a lucky man. So we are going to relax tomorrow. I can take advantage of a down day. All this retirement stuff is tough work. Goodnight all!!!!! I'll check in tomorrow, I'm sure there will be something I'll have to tell you.
