Point Defiance Zoo

Well I saw something today I've never seen before, a beaver being walked on a leash. Yes, I said walking a beaver on a leash!! I know, that is the craziest thing. He was so cute too. You weren't allowed to pet him or I'd have been all over that. The two guys that were walking around the zoo with the beaver, you know I couldn't make this kind of stuff up if I tried, said that you couldn't pet him because people tend to swarm the more "exciting" animals. I didn't realize beavers had that kind of a following, but I guess they are "exciting". This was a nice little zoo, emphasis on "little". We saw walrus', and otters, a whole family of red wolves, and elephants, and of course, the beaver on a leash. Spanky was excited cause he got his picture at the sign, a pin, and he was also able to do some sightseeing of the Puget Sound. That damn monkey gets around. So now we are headed home. Dinner is going to be cleaning up leftovers and then we will get things ready to leave tomorrow. We will be seeing some really cool sights at the next stop, Mt. St. Helen, Mt. Rainier, and we are going to go to a kite festival, but I don't want to ruin the surprises, so you'll just have to keep reading to see what's next in store.
