Wildwood Wildlife Park

Well today has been a stellar day, we went to the little zoo that was less then two miles from the campground. It is so funny, we had no idea this zoo was here. We just happened to pick this campground like we do all of them. We haven't been able to check out any of these campgrounds, we are just going by what we find on the Internet, and we have been finding real winners. To find a zoo right under our noses though is serendipity. The Wildwood Wildlife Park was a nice little zoo. There were so many animals just wandering freely at this zoo, goats, deer, tortoises, pot belly pigs, bunnies, peacocks, and guinea fowl. They have bunnies and chickens for sale at this zoo which was very different. You can feed some of the animals; deer, fowl, goats, and a lot of others. You could also feed the bears. This was crazy!!!! They had two vending machines that had soda bottles full of something they called "Bear Juice" and you could get close enough to the bears to hold up the bottle for them to drink from. So many of the habitats and cages were so accessible and just a lawsuit waiting to happen. I watched a family try to feed crackers to the otters. The adults tossing pieces of crackers only to have it fall short and they reach over at the same time the otter's little claw is reaching under trying to retrieve the same piece of food. Now if this animal had scratched or bitten this person, well in Florida you just couldn't do this kind of thing.
After our visit to the zoo we wanted to get lunch and Steve had seen a Chinese place when we were on our way in. We drove over and that place was a dump so we kept on going. There was another Chinese place we found and we had a very good lunch. With our check we got the customary fortune cookies. I took one and left one for Steve and my little bag had two fortune cookies. I probably missed an opportunity when I didn't get a lottery ticket tonight cause I would have won, I am lucky today.
Now the real news for the day, my wonderful husband, without any prompting by me, suggested we stop in Bloomington and go to the Mall of America. The Mall of America, can you believe this?! Monday we will leave here and go to Minnesota and check out the mall. I AM GOING TO THE MALL OF AMERICA!!!!! I think I am hearing an angelic choir singing. I am so lucky to have a great husband. What fun we are having on this trip!
