The Big Reveal
Jun 2, 2013, 8:49 PM
Today our little project is done, but I'm going to make you wait before the big reveal. . .
Last night Robert, Steve, and I decided it would be nice to do breakfast. We didn't really firm up whether we were going to make breakfast or go out. So this morning before the appointed hour I called Kim and us girls sort of decided we needed to go out. So we did!!!!! We tried this new little place that Robert had been wanting to try, it wasn't very far from the house, the Brass Eagle. So off we went, Kim and I tried to get the guys to go in one car so that she and I could go off after breakfast. We wanted to move things around in her craft room. There was a bed in there that really needed to come out and we wanted to look for lights and just a few odds and ends. We thought we could scare the guys off by telling them we were going to go to Walmart, but it didn't work. So after a good breakfast, this place was a bit of a find, Kim had poo poo'd it a couple times before but it was clean, good, fast, correct, I mean what more could you want? And the waitress had personality. So to get to the point after breakfast we ALL went to Walmart.
Well that in itself was a trip. Herding cats, that's all I'm going to say. Kim and I were able to find a nice floor lamp that had a reading lamp attached and it was such a great price we almost fell over. We found a few other things that we needed then picked up stuff for dinner. We were making chicken cacciatore. We thought we had everything, then we realized Alex hadn't gotten sunglasses, his had broken. So off Alex and Robert went in search of sunglasses. We checked out with the rest of the stuff and still no Robert and Alex, so Kim went to find them. Herding cats, that's all I'm going to say!!
Anyway, we are home now. We have dinner rolls rising, we have chicken cacciatore in the crock pot cooking, and all of this before 1PM. My gosh I know, some of you are thinking there must be a pod in the basement. I don't know how it happened either. Then the fun really started. We got rid of Steve, plopped his butt in front of the TV to watch the race. Kim and I started moving furniture out of the craft room and rearranged the furniture in the room. Robert and Alex lent a hand with the heavy lifting. NOW we are ready to get back to our project. Kim a while ago had let it slip that she had no idea how to sew. Sewing is something I used to do a lot. So I really wanted to help teach her while I was here. She had Alex take a sewing class through the 4-H so that she could listen in and learn, but she didn't get enough from that so the other day we picked up a simple pattern for an apron, we got the material and thread and we started our project and today we finished it. I "helped" and I interpreted pattern speak, but Kim did all the work and she did a GREAT job. I couldn't be more proud of her. She is a whiz at whatever she puts her mind to and she has put her mind to sewing.
Enjoy the photos of her big accomplishment. That's it for today. Steve is bitching that I'm writing too damn much just to tell people that Kim made an apron, but I had to have the lead in and for God's sake do you want just bullet points or do you want to feel like you are peeking in the windows. Come on now, be honest! I'll tell you more tomorrow, bye!!
