Day 41

Happy Father's Day
Jun 16, 2013, 5:56 PM

Father's Day was a pure pleasure. I got up early and ran to the food store, you can do that when you are in the middle of civilization and the food store is only a few miles away instead of 20+ miles like when we are in Florida. Anyway I got the makings for pasta salad and I picked up baked beans. Kim was having her father-in-law, Daddy and Sandy, our cousin Crystal and her two girls, and my father's brother Uncle Al (Crystal's father) and his wife Aunt Judy, to the house for a cook out. It was so much like really old times. At one point my uncle came in and wanted the TV put on so he could watch golf. It was like seeing my grandfather (his father), almost 50 years ago. My grandfather used to sit every Sunday and watch golf. It was a constant.

The kids were playing, the women were talking, the guys were doing I have no idea what. It was such a great time!!!! I hope all the father's out there had a great day!

Oh but I forgot to tell you about the lights in our bedroom. Early, early this morning, I got up to use the bathroom. I saw this light on the wall up at the ceiling. I thought I was just not seeing properly in the middle of the night, but there really was a light. I put my hand up to the light and it moved. OK now it MOVED!!!! I didn't know if someone was shining a light in the window or if someone had come in and installed a camera of some sort, was Alex playing a practical joke, or what. So I nudged Steve, he was snoring, the nudging him stopped the snoring; great this time that actually worked, but I wanted him to wake up. So now I'm almost yelling, "Steve, Steve, there is a light. Do you see that? There is a light." He opens his eyes and says "What light? You mean the lightning bug!" Oops!!!! I knew it was a lightning bug, I really jut wanted him to stop snoring, yeah that's it, he was snoring too loud. I went back to sleep.
