Day 28

Tough Day
Jun 3, 2013, 7:29 PM

OK today was NOT a stellar day. We had an appointment at Camping World to have the air bags looked at. Steve has noticed a problem when we have to jump on the brakes. You have to jump on the brakes a lot when you drive an RV. People don't seem to realize they don't stop on a dime, but hell, why worry about that, just pull right in front of us with only an inch to spare, we like that. So anyway there was a small parade at Kim and Robert's this morning so that the vehicles could be moved in an on again off again drizzle/rain.

So we drive through terrible traffic, at points sitting still for several minutes, and we have now used up the extra 45 minutes we allowed for a trip that should have taken 45 minutes to an hour and we finally arrive. We explain the problem the the camping world people (you will note I am no longer capitalizing camping world cause they have gone DOWN in my book, but I'm getting ahead of myself here) and are off to find a laundromat.

I can't find a category on the GPS that would cover laundromat, so I just type in laundromat, there is always more than one way to skin a cat (that's a horrible expression, have you ever thought about that?) and several pop up. So being the intelligent two people we are, I hit the first one and off we go. Very soon we are about to go over the bridge into Pennsylvania again. I didn't want to do that and have to go back and have all those tolls to pay, so we turn around and try a different laundromat. For the love of God don't people in Jersey ever do laundry? There were about six different laundromat s listed within like ten miles and they were in Pennsylvania. Come on people I know that somewhere east of the shores of the Delaware River there MUST BE a laundromat. So we stop at a Wawa to regroup and Steve wanted a coffee and I can always be talked into a Tastykake. Steve gets out of the car and I stayed behind to figure out where a laundromat was in the direction I wanted. I FOUND ONE!!!!!! I had to rush out to tell him, I get out of the car, here he is leaning in the window of a car with two women in it asking them where a laundromat was in the area. REALLY?????? He is lucky he didn't get maced. Strange man walking up to my window with the lame excuse of needing a laundromat would have put me on edge, and don't you know it is the same damn one I just found! Whatever, I just want to wash my freaking clothes at this point. I don't want to have to turn underware inside out and I sure as hell don't want Steve to. OMG!!

THE WASH IS DONE, and me to at this point. FIVE freaking loads, and I was combining at that point, I wasn't paying for six loads. It was almost 1PM by this time and we needed lunch. While we were sitting there Steve decided to find out what the progress with the RV was. So he called camping world. He talked to the service woman, she transferred him to the guy that was actually working on the RV, he was telling Steve all of these things that were wrong and then I guess Steve got transferred back to the woman at the counter again. I think she was supposed to be in the process of getting the parts needed. She asked Steve who made the chassis, now, stop me if I'm wrong here, but they are WORKING ON THE RV, it is in their possession. Why would she ask us, it's with them, take a look at it, there is a sticker on the RV, it's right outside the RV door and I'm sure in plenty of other places too. Then she tells us, maybe we should just go to Freightliner, that might be better. "They are better equipped to do this kind of repair", she told him.  Steve told her we were finishing up lunch and would be back very soon, and with that my lunch no longer look very appealing. We got back and they were unorganized and not much help and several other things I wanted to pick up at camping world weren't available. I wasn't happy and we all know how I get when I'm not happy!

We paid, I have to admit it was decent to only charge us half price since they did really nothing, it was the LEAST they could do. We went out to the RV to call Freightliner. I had my doubts that was going to go anywhere, it was already after 2PM, but we really had little choice. Steve called the number they gave us in camping world, when they told us Freightliner was just down the street, the number was to a Freightliner in South Carolina. OK, now I'm just making things up, right? I would love to tell you yes, but sadly no. I would say at this point "to make a long story short", but it's way too late for that. We have an appointment with a Freightliner service place in Lancaster on Wednesday.

I stead of putting Kim and Robert through a lot of trouble we pulled into a campground very near the service location. I'm beat, that's all you're getting tonight.
