Day 42 (Early Edition)

Getting In Trouble (Again)
Jun 17, 2013, 3:58 PM

OK now this I have NEVER heard of! Kim, Catherine, and I took off this afternoon to try to find hardware and findings to make a wind chime. When we were out before Catherine had found really cool old letters. They were metal and about 2" high, so she wanted to see if she could make a wind chime out of them. We talked about different ideas and tactics to make it work. We took off for Walmart. We picked up a few things and then Catherine wanted to go to Goodwill to get a cheap picture frame. OK I think we all know how I feel about places like Goodwill to begin with, but I thought what the heck. So we go in and it was actually a nice Goodwill, it didn't smell musty, it was brightly lit, however the merchandise was about the same as any other thrift store.

So whatever, we are just there for picture frames. We are looking at different pictures trying to decide if the frames could be reused. Kim went to the next aisle Catherine and I were right behind her. We were talking to each other and Kim called out that she had something we needed to look at, Catherine and I came up behind her and all I hear is a hissing sound. Did someone just pass gas, did a pipe just spring a leak, I was pondering all of this when Catherine turned around and said to Kim, "did you just get shushed?" Kim said to her "I thought it was you". I said it wasn't me, and Catherine said again I think you just got shushed. Now this lady that was at the end of the row says, "Yes, I shushed you." OK NOW YOU DID IT!!!!! Catherine jumps in saying "I didn't realize we were in a library, I thought we were at Goodwill. Kim you were just shushed in a Goodwill!" I made the comment that I thought the woman was being very rude, and trust me when I tell you, a few other choice words were uttered.

Then this lady, oh I am using that term so very loosely, says to me, "People can just be so loud when they are on their cell phones." So I pointed out to her that we weren't on our cell phones we were talking to each other, I also told her she was incredibly rude and maybe she needed to turn down her hearing aid. She made some comment about being proud of the fact that she didn't need a hearing aid and trotted her little self off.

Now I am sorry if the sound of a couple people happily talking is too much for you to bear, STAY HOME!!!! Life is too short to have to put up with miserable old people. Being happy and having a good time with your sister and a girlfriend should not be a crime, and we were being so well behaved, which given the location is hard to believe, trust me there have been times I have been with the girls at a thrift store and we have been tearing up the place, this wasn't one of those times, but it almost became a brawl.

Don't you know when we got up to the register to pay for Catherine's frame SHE is there checking out. We are a few people behind her and Catherine decided to look at jewelry, for the wind chimes. Kim is just waiting and as the nasty lady was leaving the woman behind her in line says to the cashier "That woman lost a few of her marbles." Hearing this Kim starts to laugh so hard she can't even tell us what just happen. The poor woman that made the comment was horrified realizing what she just said. Here NASTY LITTLE MISS MY PANTIES ARE IN A BUNCH purchased a bird feeder looking thing that had four feet and two of them had marbles and two didn't but should have. This poor woman was just making a comment about that and didn't realize her unfortunate turn of phrase. Kim, still laughing like hell, said "if you only knew". With that we pretty much paid and left. I was still hot, but that was the end and we just bitched and laughed and bitched some more all the way home.

Lesson to be learned. . .Don't be get'n all up in my face and be making rude comments to me and thinking you are gonna just walk away! You brought it, you better be ready to dance!! I am just say'n!!!!!
