Day 30

Freightliner Service Today
Jun 5, 2013, 9:21 AM

Well we were up right after the sun this morning and I'm not sure if I'm going crazy or what but it seems like it was much brighter here at 5:30 AM, then it is in Florida at 5:30 AM. I can't imagine how that could be either, but Steve thought it was too. Anyway we wanted to get the RV into Freightliner as soon as possible this morning and they open at 7:00 AM. So we dropped off the RV and went to get breakfast. We stopped at a Cracker Barrel, always a good choice for breakfast.

I have to admit I'm not looking forward to the call from Freightliner telling us how much it's going to cost to get the RV fixed. I may have to set up an online account for donations or start charging to read the blog. I think either way we wouldn't get much.

OK I realize I said I wasn't looking forward to the call from Freightliner, but some information would be nice. After we got breakfast we decided to go to a Camping World in Hanover, PA. We figured what the heck, we have all day, but we can't really do anything cause we don't know how much time we have. It's a waiting game. So we picked up the couple things we'd not gotten at the camping world in Jersey (you may have noticed there is a distinction to be made between the camping world in Jersey and the Camping World in Hanover). This store was very nice, helpful people and I had to chuckle. The store in Jersey had the GPS that we have and I wanted to get a sun shade for it, but they didn't have them. I asked and the guy told me "Oh that's a new GPS we don't have any accessories for it yet". At the Hanover store, they didn't have the GPS anywhere that I saw but they had the accessories. It is a crazy topsy turvy world we live in people. After we dropped the RV, went to breakfast, went to Camping World in Hanover, we thought hey, we're close, let's go to Gettysburg. So we drive up to Gettysburg. We went to the National Military Park Visitor's Center and Museum. We got the information to do the self guided driving tour of the battle grounds. We hit #1 McPherson Ridge, then as we were driving to #2 Eternal Light Peace Memorial we drove through an intersection that was backed up for miles, and it was not moving. Steve said "I'm glad we aren't going that way." Damned if you don't know to get to #3 we have to go that way, so we decided so much for that. We headed back towards Freightliner. It's almost 2 PM, they have got to know something by now, right. Please tell me right, I'm hanging on by a thread here.

Oh you are going to love this. We pull into the Freightliner lot and the RV is sitting in the back corner. Nobody's working on it. I don't have a good feeling about this!!!!! I'll let you know what happens next.

I don't know if I am happy or really pissed off. So let's recap, on the way up here if we had to hit the brakes hard the RV banged and pulled to the left, we made an appointment to take it in to Camping World/camping world (if you don't know what this means, shame on you for not being a faithful reader of my blog-I'm not telling you, you can go back and find it for yourself) on Monday. They tell us we need new air bags, shocks, and bump stops on the left side and the right air bag and shocks should be replaced too, we should take it to Freightliner; cost $59 (to do nothing). We make an appointment with Freightliner for Wednesday to have the RV fixed, we stay at a campground so that Robert and Kim aren't unconvinced anymore than necessary, Robert has to move his RV out of the way, then put it back as soon as we are all settled; campground cost $50/night, 2 nights $100. Then we have today, Freightliner, found nothing wrong; cost $120. In total $279.00 and several days of retirement lost forever. I'm done!!!!!!! Thats it, no more. We are not going to worry about it anymore.

So we are back and things are all set up again just in time to drive tomorrow to NC for Connor's (Steve's grandson) high school graduation.
